APPLIED DESIGN | WEEK 2 DISTANCE LEARNING 2020

Lock & Drill Assembly Line (Historical Photograph)

Hello & Welcome to Week 2 of Distance Learning!

We are going to go in depth with our scheduled journal assignments. Please use your sketchbooks for the follow days' assignments, prompts and studies. Check back every school day. A new post will be up by 9:00am.

Concept - Assembly Line
Medium - Your choice
Elements of Art - line, shape, form, space
Principles of Design - unity

Below, is an embedded slideshow that you can expand to watch. Please carefully observe each slide and read the content. The information in the PowerPoint presentation will be important for your creative brainstorming.

First, understand what an Assembly Line is.

Next, consider how Assembly Lines show up in your own life experience. See the real life examples given. What was your initial idea that popped into your head regarding Assembly Line. How would you illustrate your idea? Write down your ideas to expand on them later.

Then, there are 3 Art History examples of Assembly Line. Notice their differences and similarities. What Elements of Art do you see in each Art history example? How can you incorporate these Art Elements into your own composition?

Finally, with your brainstorming ideas and the information you gathered about Assembly Lines, create your own Assembly Line using 2 pages.

I will be signing onto my Instagram platform at 9:00am each school day to talk with you in detail. I will also have a funny sketch activity to create in real-time with you.

Email me or comment on this blog post if you have questions about this assignment.

Weekly assignments are due by Friday. Please email a picture me or send a picture of your artwork via DM on Instagram.

Much Love,

Ms. B
