Imaginary Creatures & Found Poetry

In this Art Lesson we experienced Abstract Art through a expressive gestural drawing technique. Color Theory was introduced and discussed at length in class during the first day powerpoint presentation. Through the creative and discovery process, students were encouraged to use their imaginations to identify The Principle of Art, Emphasis, in the outlines of Imaginary Creatures. These Imaginary Creatures were born from the expressive gestural drawing lines during the preliminary stages of this multi-layered Art Project. Found Poetry (cross-curricular) is poetry cut from one source, using only words or phrases in text from a random page of literature.
Art Students were given a hand-out with specific criteria and were responsible to understand and execute the following: ART ELEMENTS (LINE, SHAPE, COLOR, TEXTURE) PRINCIPLES OF DESIGN (EMPHASIS)
IMAGINARY CREATURES & FOUND POETRY MUST SHOW ARTISTRY, CRAFTSMANSHIP, NEATNESS. THE FINISHED ARTWORK SHOULD BE CLEAN AND BE PRESENTABLE TO DISPLAY.
