VA COMP | Line Drawing

Assignment One

Learning Target: Students will create a line drawing using various drawing techniques to achieve value, form, and space. 

Students will apply the drawing techniques we practiced in class, which include: sketching lines, contour, blind contour, scumbling, and stippling. 

Students will use their sketchbooks to brainstorm ideas and reflect on a childhood memory, experience, or dream. 

Students will display understanding of:

• value (light to dark shading)
• form (drawing a shape to look 3D)
• space (creating distance by showing proportion in the objects drawn in the composition)
