Sketchbook Entry | Elements of Art

THE ELEMENTS OF ART:

• 9"x9" drawing paper
• Draw an "X" corner to corner and then a "+" from top to bottom and side to side
• There should be 8 equals parts or triangles 
• Label each triangle (Elements of Art, Line, Shape, Color, Texture, Value, Form, Space)
• Draw a visual representation of each Element of Art
• Keep Elements of Art in sketchbook

VAHSDR.CR.3 & VAHSVA.CR.3 - Engage in an array of processes, media, techniques, and technology through experimentation, practice and persistence. (a) Create/ Investigate mark-making methods (gesture, contour, emotive line, etc)

VAHSDR.CR.4 & VAHSVA.CR.4 - Incorporate formal and informal components to create works of art. (b) Apply compositional design concepts (elements and principles, activating negative space, visual weight, rule of thirds, color theories)
