Welcome to Week 2 of Distance Learning 2020 for VA COMP!

Please use your sketchbooks and the media you have available at home for the following days' assignments, prompts and sketchbook studies. Check back here each day.

Journal Assignment - Use several kitchen utensils for an illustration. 

Elements of Art - line, shape, form

Below, is an embedded slideshow that you can expand to watch. Please carefully observe each slide and read the content. The information in the PowerPoint presentation will be important for your creative process. 

First, select several kitchen utensils.

Next, considering the visual examples, what is the best way to arrange your kitchen utensils into a visually interesting composition. I encourage you to make a few different arrangements to discover which composition will work best for you. You can a take a picture of your composition just in case someone needs to use the kitchen utensils. Taking a picture will also allow you to come back to the composition and continue to work on it throughout the week. 

Then, begin sketching out your composition on one full page. Add the Art Elements: line shape and form.

I will be signing onto my Instagram platform at 9:00am each school day to talk with you in detail. I will also have a funny sketch activity to create in real-time with you.
