Emotive Statue Drawing 

Materials: oil pastel, 9" x 12" gray drawing paper

Preparation: Students will brainstorm and research statues and/or monuments that are visually interesting to them. They will create a sketch in their sketchbooks to recreate the statue from their own perspective.

Learning Objective: Students will create an emotive drawing of a statue using oil pastels. Students will use color to set a mood and incorporate drawing techniques to accomplish shape, form, and value in their compositions.
